I had a picture of what the end result of this capture would be. It wasn’t meant to be as deep as this, but as I kept laying out build after build, suddenly, I am in a city at the edge of my mind. And in this city, there are alleyways and corners, hidden, unseen.

Dealing with a chronic illness, to me, is a lot like walking through a city such as this. I tend to stay away from the concealed places that could be full of pain, uncertainty, and doubt.  And when you can’t see where you are going, it feels endless. But it should not feel hopeless.

Because the truth of the matter is, that alleyway? It won’t go on forever. Going through this, will not be forever.. and I am thankful for that knowledge.

I think that is why I am such a huge fan of this part of the metaverse. SL is still a viable platform for world builders and dreamers. I can still ‘flesh’ out what I am feeling, all while dealing with the mess of weekly treatments. We are a lucky lot in that designers take time out of their real lives, to create virtual content for our consumption.

They are the dreamers we need right now.
